Antonio said, "Eleanor informs me there's no such thing as a seagull. Which ruins my poem..." He gestured to a piece of paper on which he'd written nothing but stern-eyed seagulls. "OK, so I want to keep the alliteration even so. What's a word that starts with G that goes with gull?"
"Garbage," I said and paused. "But that's not poetry."
"Oh no," he said. "It is. Garbage-eyed gulls. Hm. How about 'stern garbage-eyed gulls'? Look, that's a dactyl and a spondee!"
